Five Things That Made Me Happy This Week #5

Hello you lovely thing and welcome back to my happy things for the week. I’ll quit the waffle and get straight on into it

1) Getting My Groove Back

After quitting blogging for quite a long time, and slowly coming back it, I’m finally feeling like I’ve found my groove again. I’ve started really enjoying the posts that I’m making and I’m writing content that I’m proud of and I hope it’s helping anyone that’s reading the posts. This will be my 4th post this week, and I’m loving it!

2) BBQ With Friends

At the weekend, my husband and I went for a BBQ with a couple of his friends and their wives. It was really nice to just sit back, enjoy the sunshine, have a couple of glasses of bubbles, and stuff my face with veggie sausages.

3) New Artwork

In past posts I talked about the fact that I’m working on making my office space as homely and comfortable for me as possible. My latest addition to the family is this gorgeous piece of art created by Jemma from Dorkface blog. It’s so colourful and happy, I love it.  Go and check out her Etsy for all her amazing bits.

4) Getting Healthier

I recently got my arse back in gear to try and get healthier, and pretty much just be more mindful of my eating. Where I work from home I tend to forget to have lunch as I’m so busy and then I’ll just carb load in the evening for dinner where I’m super hungry. Meal planning is now my best friend, and I’m aiming to get back into the gym when my latest knee flare up calms down.

5) Donating Old Books

I don’t know about you but I have SO many old books sitting around my house. Some that I’ve had for so long that I’ve had no idea what to do with, which are my old coursebooks for Uni. I started by seeing if my old University library wanted them (spoiler it’s no, as they were too old – alright rub it in). I scoured online to find somewhere I could recycle them and most places wouldn’t even pay 10p for them. Some of them I was able to sell and donate the money to charity, the others I wast stuck.  Then I stumbled across Books For Africa. They’re a company that take all of your old books and send them over to students of all ages in Africa, and I couldn’t think of a better place to send them. If you have the same issue, check them out as they even come and collect the package from your house!

Have a great weekend all and please tell me what your happy things were this week?

It feels great to think about the best parts of your week, it’s something that I’ve been doing for a while now but it’s so lovely to read about what’s made other people smile 🙂

So happy to hear that you’re finding your blogging groove again lady, I’m really enjoying reading your posts! Also I’m loving the sound of the books for Africa organisation, such a great suggestion for old books – of which I have plenty! 🙂
