I hope you’re having a good week so far and Happy flippin’ Friday! I wanted to hit you with a quick post today all about something quite cool I did recently.
Last weekend I got the opportunity to do a talk at the Blogosphere Summer party, and if you know me well, I’m one of those weird people who really enjoys public speaking, and getting an opportunity to help others so for me this was such a great thing to be able to do to.
If you haven’t heard of Blogosphere before it’s a super cool magazine made for bloggers, by bloggers. It’s run by Albertine, Elaine, Sophie and Alice and I’ve actually known Sophie for a really long time but have met a few times, but Elaine I’ve known for about 4 years and we finally got to meet which was great.
This was their summer party and was held at the White Room in Lumiere London which is just down from Southwark station, so a great location, although The room was so pretty, full of yummy treats and drinks. First up I got to listen to Deb from Bang On Style’s talk first on Blog Photography, and seriously if you want to up your game with your photos, you need to check out her blog, I learned loads of cool things!
Then it was my turn! Is it just me or do I look like a stand up comedian here with Mel
who was sat next to me having a good old chuckle? Such a nice moment captured by Kaye!
Anyway, I was speaking (very quickly I might add) about tips to market your blog. Some of you may know that in my day job I work in Digital Marketing and have done for a number of years, so I was offering some insight into SEO for bloggers and other ways to market yourself.
I’m thinking of maybe writing some posts on this if there’s some interest, as there was so much more I wanted to talk about!
After me there was a talk from Simon from The Nomis Agency
who was speaking about influencer marketing and working with an agency. As I was speaking I didn’t get to chat to all of the companies there were there, such as Braun
but I did get a quick chance to talk to So…? Fragrances,
and I loved their new scents, especially the deeper woody scents. Another company there was Sekforde
drinks, and their mixers are delicious you need to try them!
Thank you so much to everyone for all of the lovely words about my talk, it was very much appreciated, here’s a few social bits about it:
They were lovely and I got a little goodie bag with some treats, although I was the ULTIMATE tote bag lady on the way home with 4 bags. Lucky I like tote bags!
Thanks for having me Blogosphere, and if you’d like me to speak at any of your events, or if you’d like me to write some Digital Marketing related blog posts, get in touch!
